Finding my voice ...

It's been a year since I posted here. So much has happened.

I'm excited to pick up my proverbial pen again. However, I will be publishing on Substack going forward. Here is why:

I've spent most of my working life writing in exchange for money. I was paid for my creative capacity. I loved it. And then something changed.

I wanted the words, ideas and stories to be fully mine. I wanted to own my creative process. So I started this blog. It was much harder than I thought, but a necessary piece of my puzzle.

I pour my heart and soul into all my 'work' and I want to be remunerated for it. I want to be recognised and rewarded. I want reciprocity. I want to give and receive. It inspires me to keep going, and holds me accountable to regularly share.

It feels courageous to admit this. A claiming and re-claiming.

I want to share my voice in many ways: via the written word and the spoken word. I've had such beautiful feedback and bounteous requests to record audios.

This is where Substack comes in: it's a space for writers. It allows me to charge a small subscription fee, reach a more targeted audience, and easily upload audios.

I love a good cup of tea (or decaf coffee) and a meaningful conversation. So for the price of a cuppa, we get to 'converse' and dive into the topics and themes that I love. My vision is to share more intimately, more regularly. Short but deep reads that get you thinking, dreaming, questioning, reflecting. I will also be offering guided breathwork and meditations.

The first one is already waiting for you ...

The Golden Thread: gilded fibre and imaginary filament, tether and treasure. It includes me taking you through a little golden thread breathwork practice.
